Hello,
and thank you for visiting my website!
My name is Laura Mihelich. I am a marketer, designer, and writer from the Chicago, IL area.
My passion lies in spreading awareness, reducing stigma, and storytelling.
I currently support digital communications for a national laboratory — overseeing website content development and email outreach with a focus on SEO and accessilibity standards — as well as editing and producing cross-laboatory articles and social media content to promote key research initatives.
From 2014-2019, I worked at an ad technology company, where I focused on retailer weekly ad websites and banner ads. Before discovering the world of web design, I pursued in journalism, graduating from the University of Iowa with a BA in journalism and psychology and going on to receive a Master’s of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University.
I have experience in supporting company re-design efforts, building websites and advertisements within national retailer brand guidelines, enhancing journalistic storytelling through layout, and writing compelling narratives for media publications.
I have additionally completed a professional marketing certificate from the University of California San Diego Extension, as well as a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have also spent time volunteering for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Northern Illinois chapter, where I assisted with social media, website updates, and acted as a NAMI representative at local events.
In my spare time I love traveling, binge watching all the TV shows, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
